About Your Pool Swim School

Swim lessons that come to you

Our approach

Why private lessons at your own pool?

Private swimming lessons in your own pool provide 100% focused, one-on-one attention from an instructor in a familiar, comfortable and convenient environment. By training in a backyard or residential setting, swimmers benefit from tailored instruction that matches their exact skill level and learning speed, often leading to faster progress than in crowded public classes. This approach eliminates the hassle of commuting to a public recreation centre or navigating busy, loud aquatic facilities, making it highly convenient for busy schedules. Additionally, the privacy of your own pool creates a low-stress, distraction-free environment that builds confidence and helps nervous beginners, children, or seniors feel safer and more comfortable as they learn essential water skills.

Founder & Head Swim Instructor

Debra Milnes

Debra founded Your Pool Swim School to bring certified private swim lessons into backyard pools across the Albury-Wodonga region. After nearly two decades in the police force, she carries the same commitment to safety into every lesson — with professional swim teaching qualifications, a current Working with Children Check in NSW and VIC, and up-to-date First Aid and CPR, including the Childcare component. Raised on the border, Debra knows the local lifestyle of rivers, lakes, and home pools, and why water safety for children cannot wait. Lessons happen in a familiar backyard, away from the noise and crowds of public aquatic centres, so children learn with patience and a personal touch.
